Since 1944, NSF International, an independent, not-for-profit organization, has been committed to making the world a safer place for consumers.

The NSF mark can be found on millions of consumer, commercial, and industrial products today. Products evaluated and certified by NSF include bottled water, home appliances, food equipment, water treatment products, plumbing and faucets, and pool and spa components.

As a neutral, disinterested, third party certifier, NSF International is a global leader in testing and certifying that products meet the requirements of strict public health standards.

NSF certified products do more than pass a test. For a product to become NSF certified, it must meet not just one, but ALL five of the following requirements:

1. Contaminant reduction claims are true. (If applicable)
2. The product does not add anything to the water.
3. The product is structurally sound.
4. Advertising, literature and labeling are not misleading.
5. The materials and production processes don't change.

In short, the end result for the consumer is the assurance that the product is sound and will do what it says it will do.

The Water Quality Association is a not-for-profit trade organization representing the residential, commercial, industrial and small systems water treatment industry.
